Conficker Free.  Spambot.  Now, the AC unit dies in our server room on a Saturday evening.  Luckily for me, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve.  The first step was to turn off the AC unit on the thermostat.  After a few seconds, I turned it back on…and progress!  Cold air was blowing out…but it was only keeping the server room from getting hotter, it wasn’t going back down.

Try again with the on/off schtick.  This time, I take 10 minutes of leaving it off.  This brought it down a few degrees — but then it plateaued at 83 degrees.

This isn’t going to work.  This time, I turn off the AC again at the thermostat…then went to the circuit breaker and flipped the switch.  I turned it back on, then went outside for a smoke.  Upon returning, I turned on the AC again in the server room.  I’m now down to 80.6 degrees and counting.

Hopefully this will resolve it.  I really don’t want to have to call the building maintenance people and our AC people on a Saturday night…

One day…everything will be fine again :-/
